Michael Etherton
Michael Etherton is Executive Producer and Chief Operating Officer of UK Jewish Film.
Since 2004 he was worked closely with the Executive Director and Board of Trustees on the strategic development and expansion of UK Jewish Film as well as its recent transformation from annual festival to year-round organisation. With many years of commercial and creative experience he has produced more than 350 UK premieres and his responsibility includes the operational and financial management of around 150 screenings and events annually at cinemas across London and the UK, including BFI, Barbican, ICA, Everyman, Odeon and Cineworld. He also produces the Geneva International Jewish Film Festival, and following its first year’s success, is now preparing its second edition.
With a background as an entrepreneurial creative producer for festivals, and in classical and world music, opera and film, Michael has curated and promoted a huge range of events at venues from the Wigmore Hall, London, to the Brighton Festival Fringe. Michael graduated in Jurisprudence from Balliol College, Oxford, before qualifying as a Barrister. He also holds a Licentiate Performance Diploma in cello and studied orchestral conducting at the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music.
